Input Output Reasoning tips

Hi
Here i like to share some tips for sequential output tracing. There are 4 basic types of problems
  1. Shifting
  2. Arranging
  3. Arithmetical operation
  4. coded password
SHIFTING & ARRANGEMENT : where you find same numbers or letters in the INPUT and the following STEPS
ARITHMETICAL OPERATION : in this the numbers will be arranged based on mathematical operations like addition subtraction division or multiplication ( this is not asked often in the exams)
CODED PASSWORD : in this carefully analyse the pattern to obtain the answer

TIPS TO FIND THE TYPE

  1.    If the either in last or first  NUMBER or WORDS are same through out the steps then it is Arrangement or Shifting.
  2. You will find the numbers either in increasing or decreasing order & words will be in alphabetical order
  3. For coded password always number the words in INPUT as 1, 2, 3,.... As this would easily help you to find the answers.
  4. For Arithmetical input consist of only numbers based on the mathmatical operations.
Hope this was helpful
